Here's the shot I chose to start from. I wanted to include the black boy, specific parts of the playground and the bench off to the left.
Here's a similiar shot, only in landscape and from a slightly different perspective.
I really wanted to try and get a good shot of this black boy. There are lots of shadows and lines that come into play with the light in the surroundings of this shot. I love the way this shot is framed by the shadows, above and below the black boy. It really focusses your eye on the center piece of the image - which also gives off a warm shadow.
I thought I'd get in a little closer and see what I could achieve by taking a macro type of shot with the branches of the black boy. It resulted in quite a nicely composed image. The branch works well in giving a diagonal to shot. The lighting
works well against the focus of the image. I really like this photo.
This is a similar shot of the blackboy, but I thought I'd give it a a shot from the other side, including many of the houses across the road.
The day I shot, it was green pick-up day and there were a long line of rubbish collecting trucks on their way past. Unfortunately, I didn't get much of a chance to photograph them passing by, but I did manage to snap him on his way out.
I wanted to try and work with this spinning seat obstacle in the playground, merely because of it's obsqure shape and the curves associated with it. It made for a good image.
I had my dog, Bella, with me at the time - so I called her and she would ran past. I managed to get her twice and I think the blur works quite well within this set.
The final object I chose to work with was this bench. There was soft light cast over this area due to all the trees overlooking it.
I wanted to play with the perspective and focus of this image. I thought that the small bodies of water on top of the tables would also work well inside the image.
